Privacy and Limitations
PNG to JPG is a browser-only converter: the image is decoded and re-encoded locally, and no bytes are sent to Photo2URL. Because JPG doesn't support transparency, transparent pixels become white.
When you need to keep transparency instead, try the PNG to WebP converter, or go back to JPG to PNG for the opposite direction.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does PNG to JPG keep transparency?
No. JPG cannot store an alpha channel, so transparent areas are filled with white during conversion. That keeps logos and screenshots looking clean instead of unpredictable.
Is PNG to JPG lossy?
Yes. JPG is a lossy format, so the converter exports a high-quality JPG at 92% quality. Very fine gradients can change slightly; use PNG when pixel-perfect losslessness matters.
Why convert PNG to JPG?
JPG files are much smaller for photos and are accepted by more software, printers, email clients, and older websites that reject PNG.
Will the JPG be smaller than the PNG?
For photos, usually yes. For flat graphics and text, a PNG can sometimes be smaller — try the converter and compare the sizes shown on screen.
Are my PNG files uploaded?
No. The PNG is decoded and re-encoded on your device. Photo2URL never receives or stores it.
Can I convert multiple PNG files at once?
Not yet. This tool converts one file at a time in the browser. Batch or bulk conversion isn't currently supported.
What file size is supported?
PNG files up to 25 MB are accepted. Larger files are rejected to protect browser memory.
